Kannesteinen

Shaped by the Sea

Kannestein is a special rock-shaped located on the shore in the village of Oppedal. The approximately 3-meter high rock has been formed (eroded) by the sea for thousands of years.

At low tide and calm sea, it is possible to climb onto the rock and capture the moment with spectacular images.

Oppedal

Oppedal consists of two small settlements located on the east side of Torskangerpoll.

How to get there

From Måløy it is approx. 10 km to Oppedal. Follow fv 601 to Vågsvåg and take off to Oppedal.

The pathway to the rock is made of gravel for ease of access as well as some decking available.
