Skongenes Lighthouse

Behind the noise, tranquillity, strength and power is found

Do you want to experience a different long weekend or holiday? Take a trip to Skongenes lighthouse in Måløy in Western Norway. Here you can spend the night in the lighthouse keeper's residence, enjoy yourself in the sheltered yard and experience an eldorado of cliffs, paths and exciting places to discover.

Nature and hiking opportunities

From the car park in Halsør, it is just over an hour's walk to the lighthouse. The trail follows the streamline outwards and is well marked all the way with red T-marks and red dots.

At low tide, there are good opportunities for fun by the shore and on the reef just below the lighthouse. You will find anemones, seaweed, crabs, shells and birds. It is also possible to walk to and from the lighthouse along the shoreline to Sætresand (unmarked walk along the shore).

Nice steep hiking trail inwards towards Vedvik. Beautiful mountains and sandy beaches to experience in dry weather. Many nice plants.

Good fishing opportunities along the mountains around Skongsneset.

Accomodations

In the main house at Skongenes lighthouse, there are 4 bedrooms with a total of 15 beds. Camp beds can be folded up if there is too little bed space. There are duvets, pillows and blankets for all the beds. Remember to bring a sheet bag, bed linen or sleeping bag.
